Dylan Reid

President, Dylan Reid Media

I help hospitals, health plans, and AI teams use AI safely for reimbursement, claims, coding, and prior authorization.

About Me

Dylan Reid

I work where AI meets reimbursement and prior authorization. My job is simple: help teams understand what their AI is doing, make sure it follows the rules, and keep patients, clinicians, and payers from being hurt by bad decisions.

I’ve spent years around healthcare, policy, and technology—supporting patient advocacy, appropriations work, and public affairs consulting. That means I understand how decisions get made, funded, and communicated in the real world.

Outside of AI and healthcare, I’m a registered songwriter with BMI, writing modern country music. I split my time between Dallas, Naples, Palm Springs, New York City, Toronto, and Nashville.

My Work

I create tools, writing, and analysis that help leaders navigate responsible AI in healthcare.

Tools & Projects

I build simple tools that help teams understand, test, or explain their AI systems. Here are a few examples:

ICD‑10 Explorer

A fast, lightweight tool for searching ICD‑10‑CM codes with clean filters, autocomplete, and structured detail pages. Built with Python, SQLite, SQLAlchemy, and Streamlit. It ingests the official ICD‑10‑CM source files, cleans them up, stores them in a structured database, and exposes everything through a clean, reactive UI.

Coding Validator — Synthetic Healthcare Claims Demo

A small demonstration of how claim validation can work using synthetic patient data, transparent rule logic, and FDA‑aligned governance thinking. All patient data is synthetic and does not represent real individuals.

Prior Authorization App

A simple Java application that shows how prior authorization logic can work in software. It includes a small rules engine, a basic UI, and an audit log. It gives a clear view of how UM decisions can be structured, explained, and recorded.

Congress AI — Healthcare & AI Legislation Chatbot

A retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) system that lets you ask natural‑language questions about how members of Congress are engaging with healthcare and AI legislation across the 118th and 119th Congresses.

What I Do

I help health systems, payers, and AI product teams make sure their AI systems follow the rules when they’re used for reimbursement, claims, coding, and prior authorization. I help you understand what your AI is doing, keep you out of trouble, and make sure everything lines up with CMS and FDA expectations.

Who I Help

Problems I Solve

How I Work

I look at how your AI makes decisions, compare that to what CMS and the FDA expect, and point out anything that could cause problems. Then I help you fix it. Everything I build is meant to be used right away—no long reports, no confusing jargon.

Why Work With Me

I work where AI meets reimbursement and prior authorization, helping teams avoid mistakes that can affect patients, clinicians, and payers.

My background spans patient advocacy, appropriations, and public affairs consulting, so I understand how healthcare decisions are made, funded, and communicated. I’ve worked with leaders across healthcare, policy, and technology, giving me a clear view of how reimbursement and prior authorization decisions affect real people.

I translate complex AI, policy, and regulatory issues into language that executives, clinicians, and policymakers can act on. My goal is always the same: make AI safer, clearer, and easier to trust.
